How could you do this atlas?
How could you make it cry?
When the world’s on top is it hard to sympathize?
I’ve looked her in the eyes and I’ll tell you what I see.
Its half a billion people staring back at me
Chanting “why are we alone”?
If others also call this place their own home.
Well I’ll tell you why this place can’t see.
It’s because we watch ourselves
And make enemies
But who am I?
I can’t deny my humanity and sanity aren’t one of a kind
But I’d like to think we all could change.
Change our ways.
It took a loss to realize all the things I had
It took a cross for humanity to make amends
It took a sacrifice to bring about a change
Now change your ways.
I can tell your an illusion
My only one
Dancing on my brain stem.
Will I chase you
and never reach you?
and if I reach
They all pull me backwards
So will I teach myself to let go
of the fungus
that grows among us?
If not the spores will continue consuming
till there’s nothing left, nothing moving
Prove to me your worth rescuing
I want to evolve
We’re stuck in the stone age
Staring at the stars.
And though their apart
They paint a picture.
A Picture of us a lifeless figure
Waiting for something else.
